History of Fenugreek

Fenugreek is an annual herb that is believed to have been brought into cultivation in the near east.  Some seeds have been dated all the way back to 4,000 BC.  Archeologists found Fenugreek seeds buried alongside King Tut's tomb.  It is believed to be the oldest known herb used by mankind and has been around for more than 6,000 years.  Due to its properties, both traditional Chinese and European folk medicine have long promoted the use of Fenugreek seeds as a strong aphrodisiac and for a number of ailments including male reproductive disorders.

How Fenugreek Extract Works

Fenugreek has increased testosterone levels and strength output in human trials.   The compound of Furostandolic Saponins that comes from Fenugreek seed is the most important to us because it helps stimulate testosterone production.

In addition to the male benefits, it has also been known to lower blood glucose and cholesterol levels.  Studies also show that it increases testosterone levels, strength output, and even growth hormone levels.

Independent Studies

In a study of 30 men of different ages, there was an increase in testosterone and bio-level testosterone, as well as a decrease in body fat.  In another study of 60 men, subjects noted an increase in arousal and libido.

Mucuna Pruriens

History of Mucuna Pruriens

Mucuna Pruriens is a tropical legume known as velvet bean.  It is native to Africa and Asia and is a plant widely used in Ayurveda, an ancient traditional medical science that has been practiced in India since the Vedic times (1500-1000 BC).  Mucuna Pruriens is one of the richest known sources for dietary L-dopa, the precursor for dopamine.  It's a well-researched fact that the compound converts into actual dopamine inside the human body after ingestion.  Thus, consumption of quality L-dopa increases dopamine levels.

How Mucuna Pruriens Works

The L-dopa in Mucuna Pruriens is a bio-active chemical with several neurotransmitters including adrenaline, noradrenaline, and several others, which is essential for regulating mood and cognition. Because dopamine prevents prolactin from destroying testosterone.  Mucuna Pruriens in sufficient amounts helps boost testosterone.  Boosting testosterone naturally increases anabolic capacity, strength, and endurance.  When we have more desire and ambition to challenge our limits it becomes much easier to build muscle.  Dopamine is the pleasure/motivation hormone in humans, known for its stimulating effect on testosterone synthesis, while it also aids growth hormone secretion through the pituitary gland (basically it stimulates the pituitary gland which then stimulates the production of your key hormones).

L-dopa is a nonprotein amino acid derived from Mucuna Pruriens.  Along with its many benefits, the plant has been known for thousands of years to aid in sexual response.  Mucuna Pruriens is one of the richest known sources for L-dopa.  Research has found the L-dopa made naturally from Mucuna Pruriens is released steadily from the herb and stayed active in the blood for longer.  Heart and circulatory health, energy, mental clarity, libido and sexual responsiveness, youthful skin, achieving and maintaining athletic levels of muscle mass, optimism, and enthusiasm for life, all depend on healthy testosterone levels.

Independent Studies

Researchers studied a group of 60 men who were infertile due to chronically high-stress levels.  These men were given 5 grams of daily Mucuna powder for 3 months, and after the 90-day period their stress hormone levels and sperm parameters showed some interesting changes - the number of sperm cells increased by 688% on infertile men with abnormal semen parameters, and increased by 32% on the men with normal sperm when compared to the placebo.  Also, their serum testosterone levels increased by 38% in unhealthy men and 27% in healthy men.  Lit hormone increased by 41% in unhealthy men and 23% in healthy men.

In other studies, the L-dopa in the herb was able to significantly increase testosterone levels, luteinizing hormone levels, and sperm quality by rejuvenating the damaged hypothalamus-pituitary-testicles axis.  Plus, the stress hormone cortisol levels.

Tongkat Ali

History of Tongkat Ali

Tongkat Ali is a flowering plant native to Indonesia/Malaysia.  It has been used for centuries as a miracle herb due to its effectiveness in treating various diseases and health conditions.  The most recognized benefit is known for its libido enhancement.  It's been known for years to increase sexual desire and treat erectile dysfunction.

How Tongkat Ali Works

Tongkat Ali contains the effective ingredient Eurycoma Longifolia, this works by stimulating natural testosterone production and also blocking the negative feedback cycle that occurs when your testosterone level reaches its natural peak.  As your natural peak is reached without Tongkat your body sends a signal to the pituitary gland and hypothalamus that initiates a decrease in testosterone production.  The Eurycoma Longifolia from Tongkat Ali blocks this signal allowing your body to produce testosterone at a steadily increasing rate well above your natural level.  This steady increase of free testosterone in the body is proven clinically to increase strength, increase muscle mass, reduce body fat and increase sex drive.

Independent Studies

In 2003 Tongkat Ali was clinically tested against a placebo and came back with amazing results, the effects of Eurycoma Longifolia Jack are documented in the British Journal of Sports Medicine (Article number 007).  The tests show a large increase in testosterone levels over a 12-week period of usage compared to those using the placebo.  This results in the candidates that took the Tongkat Ali having a greater increase in fat-free mass at the end of the trial.

Studies show that a six-week course of high strength Tongkat Ali Root Extract leads to significant increases in total and free testosterone levels leading to increased muscle mass, including bigger biceps, improved sex drive, a higher metabolic rate and body fat reductions.

Tongkat Ali is a very interesting and unique herb.  It works on several mechanisms involved with hormonal and sexual function.  In a nutshell, Tongkat Ali reduces the effects of aging availability via 3 essential mechanisms.

  • Stimulating the secretion of Luteinizing Hormones (LH) which in turn stimulates the Leydig cells of your testicles to produce testosterone
  • Reducing the conversion of testosterone to estrogen (aromatization)
  • A decrease in sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG)
  • Elevated free testosterone level
  • Improved erectile strength without side effects
  • Increase in male fertility, sperm quality, motility and quantity
  • Natural energizer
  • Safely and meaningfully boosts androgen levels
  • Improves strength during exercise and has an anabolic effect on muscle growth
  • May promote weight loss
  • May reduce the conversion of testosterone to estrogen (anti-aromatase effect)
  • In summary, these combined effects position Tongkat Ali as perhaps the safest and most effective herbal testosterone enhancing medicinal plant available today.  It is particularly suitable for slowing down or reversing the so-called male andropause that occurs in middle-age and is of benefit for athletes and bodybuilders looking for a natural supplement without side-effects.

People ask if Tongkat Ali increases testosterone, won't that make me aggressive? On the contrary, Tongkat Ali actually reduces aggressiveness and promotes a sense of calm and confidence.  This anxiety relieving effect was also demonstrated in animal studies in that the test rats exhibited a reduced tendency to fight and performed better (improved motor skills) in tests designed to create stress and anxiety.  Tongkat Ali does not contain any testosterone in itself as it acts only as a precursor to prompt the body to supply more of its own testosterone and this also includes improving the usable "good" testosterone.  Conversely, certain bodybuilders who inject large doses of synthetic testosterone hormone actually reduce their own bodies production and may experience increased aggression as well as hair loss, reduction in testicular size, outbreaks of acne, and heart problems, amongst others.

    Muira Puama

    History of Muira Puama

Muira Puama is a small bush that produces small, white flowers.  The bark and root of this are used for medical purposes.  It is called "potency wood" and is grown in the Brazilian Amazon.  Early European explorers noted the indigenous uses and the aphrodisiac qualities.  They brought it back to Europe and it soon became a part of the Herbal Medicines in England.  It is still listed in the British Herbal Pharmacopeia and is recommended for treatment of impotence.  Scientists began researching the plant in the 1920's, they found that it was rich in fatty acids.

    How Muira Puama works

Muira Puama, when combined with a hormonally balanced lifestyle, has been shown to increase the natural levels of testosterone in the body.  Muira Puama has properties, which may cause increases in energy, appetite, increased muscle mass and body fat loss.  Testosterone is important for men suffering from impotence or erectile dysfunction and is also needed in bodybuilding because of the high amounts used by the body during endurance activities.  After a couple of days on Muira Puama you can expect to feel:

  • Increased sex drive
  • Elevated mood
  • Increased semen volume
  • More powerful erections
  • Increased sexual thoughts
  • Increased motivation
  • Increased patience
  • Independent Studies

We hear a lot about how hormonal changes affect women, but it's not been until recently that we're beginning to discuss how men experience them too.  As soon as their early 30's men may begin to experience a reduction in testosterone, otherwise known as andropause.  This can affect sexual vigor, libido, and energy levels, explaining why many aging men complain of being tired and less pleased with their sex lives.  Additionally, reductions in testosterone can cause muscle mass to weaken and fat stores to grow.

It's no wonder men are interested in ways to invigorate their body.  Many look to herbal therapy combinations and Muira Puama is often part of the equation.  In 1990, the Institue of Sexology in Paris conducted research lead by Dr. Jacques Maynberg.  In his report, Dr. Maynberg described 262 men stricken with low libido and diminished erectile capacity.  They were given Muira Puama every day for two weeks.  Amazingly, over 60% of the men reported a notable increase in libido and over half reported improvement in their ability to sustain an erection.  Dr. Maynberg conducted a second, similar study involving 100 men given Muira Puama and observed equally astounding results.  The vast majority of the participants reported improvement in their morning erections.  Over half the men said they were now able to maintain an erection during sex.  Nearly two-thirds increased their frequency of sexual intercourse.  A whopping 70% said their libido had drastically improved.  The study also found these facts:

  • Frees up bound natural testosterone to pump up energy levels
  • Builds muscle, burns fat and facilitates better circulation
  • Protects the prostate
  • Improves sexual desire and performance
  • Nutritionally balanced for adrenal support

    Vitamin C

    History of Vitamin C

Vitamin C wasn't discovered until the 1930's when Albert Szent-Gyrgyi discovered the chemical ascorbic-acid.  His discovery landed him a Nobel Prize in 1937.  Before that many had experimented with preventing and curing certain ailments of the lack of citrus fruits, but it wasn't until Albert that we knew that Vitamin C actually existed.  Vitamin C is found in various foods, including citrus fruits, green vegetables, and in tomatoes and potatoes.

    How Vitamin C Works

You need Vitamin C for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body.  It helps the body make collagen, an important protein used to make skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels.  Vitamin C is needed for healing wounds, and for repairing and maintaining bones and teeth.  It is an antioxidant, which blocks some of the damage caused by free radicals.  The build-up of free radicals over time may contribute to the aging process and the development of health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and arthritis.

    Vitamin C helps with:

  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Common cold
  • Cancer
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Age-related mascular degeneration
  • Pre-eclampsia
  • Asthma
  • Independent Studies

There is no shortage of research demonstrating that Vitamin C is a powerful tool in combating much illness and preventing illness'.  In 2014, a study of Vitamin C published in the journal Nutrients provided definitive evidence that Vitamin C can reduce the incidence of the common cold.  During the study, 85% of the recipients experienced a cold compared to 47%, with an average of 3.2 fewer days with cold symptoms.

An abundance of laboratory studies shows that Vitamin C can boost immune function, particularly in older people.  In fact, Vitamin C produces beneficial effects on virtually all the immune system's cells.

  • Natural Killer (NK) cells - These "hit men" of the immune system move in on infectious and malignant targets that have been identified as foreign by other immune system components.  Like other immune cells, NK cells' function declines with aging.  Detailed scientific studies show that NK function improves in the presence of adequate Vitamin C, and declines without it.  Vitamin C helps NK cells track and destroy tumor cells as well by reducing the shielding effect of platelets that would prevent NK cells from destroying them.  This effect may help to prevent cancers from producing deadly metastases.
  • Neutrophils - These are the main immune system cells for fighting bacterial infections.  Neutrophils engulf invading organisms, then destroy them with powerful blasts of short-lived oxygen-free radicals.  Vitamin C supports many aspects of neutrophil function, aiding in their ability to chase down bacterial targets and improving their ability to engulf and kill such targets.  Since the bacterial killing process creates potent oxidation products, neutrophils would destroy themselves in short order without ample Vitamin C, which scavenges up the dangerous oxidizing molecules once they have done their work to destroy the bacterial cell.
  • Lymphocytes - Immune system cells that produce antibodies and coordinate with other immune cells to guide them towards threats needing destruction.  When they detect such an incipient threat, lymphocytes rapidly reproduce in a proliferative response that is enhanced in the presence of Vitamin C.  In older adults, that proliferation is impaired, but Vitamin C treatment restores them to youthful levels of function.
  • Antibodies - Non-cellular components of the immune system that help identify and destroy invading threats and cancerous cells.  Vitamin C benefits this portion of the immune system by raising levels of three main classes of antibody immunoglobulins.  IgA, which protects against infections mainly on mucosal surfaces, such as the respiratory and digestive tracts, IgG, which provides long-term protection in the bloodstream, and IgM, which is the earliest immunoglobulin to appear in the blood in response to threats.
  • L-Arginine

    History of L-arginine

The history of arginine starts way back in 1886 when a Swiss chemist named Ernst Schultze isolated it from a seeding extract of the legume, Lupin.  Following that, not much happened until 1932, when scientists at the University of Freidburg, Germany discovered the urea cycle.  L-arginine is found in red meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products.  It can also be made in a laboratory and used as medicine.

    How L-arginine works

L-arginine is converted in the body into a chemical called nitric oxide.  Nitric oxide causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow.  L-arginine also stimulates the release of growth hormone, insulin, and other substances in the body.  Nitric oxide, or NO, is a chemical compound that helps moderate blood flow in your body by relaxing the walls of your blood vessels.  When blood vessels relax, the blood flow throughout your body can improve, reducing your risk for cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and atherosclerosis.  Your body makes NO by synthesizing the amino acid L-arginine.

    L-arginine helps with:

  • Wound healing
  • Helping the kidneys remove waste products from the body
  • Maintaining immune and hormone function
  • Dilates and relaxes the arteries
  • Independent Studies

Research on the use of L-arginine for specific conditions shows:

  • Angina - Studies suggest that L-arginine might decrease symptoms and improve quality of life in people with a mild to severe form of this type of chest pain
  • High Blood Pressure - Some research has shown that oral L-arginine can lower blood pressure in healthy people and people with a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart.  Infusion of L-arginine also appears to reduce blood pressure in people with hypertension
  • Erectile Dysfunction - Taking oral L-arginine might improve sexual function in men with erectile dysfunction due to a physical cause
  • Garlic Seed

    History of Garlic Seed

This common seasoning has been around for well over 5,000 years.  It is most known for its flavoring and traditional medicinal uses.  It was once used as an offering to the Gods, a well as used for food, medicine, an aphrodisiac, money, and magic potions.  It is the oldest known cultivated plant.  Garlic is believed to be native to central Asia, South Asia, and southwestern Siberia.  Garlic consumption in the United States has tripled since the 1990's with more people discovering the delightful properties of this bulb.

    How Garlic Seed Works

Taking garlic can benefit cardiovascular health, physical and sexual vitality, cognition, and resistance to infection.  It also has anti-aging properties.  Garlic jump starts the production of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in your body. In combination with Vitamin C, nitric oxide production is increased by 200%.

    Benefits of Nitric Oxide

The benefits of nitric oxide are outstanding and taking N.OX, with its perfect combination of nitric oxide boosting ingredients, can have lasting and beneficial health/gym outcomes such as:

  • Preventing cardiovascular disease, as it helps relax walls of arteries, dilates the vessels and improves blood flow
  • Increases the blood flow to the brain thereby improving general functioning of the brain and reducing cognitive decline
  • Improves the libido and sex drive, as it is one of the main reasons behind erections
  • Increased NO levels can greatly improve the effectiveness of workouts because muscles receive more oxygen and nutrients when the veins are dilated
  • Helps memory and behavior
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Improves sleep quality
  • Increases senses
  • Relieves lactic acid build-up
  • Independent Studies

Researchers have long known that Vitamin C has a positive effect on endothelial function and artery health in general, and garlic has been known for the same.  A recent study showed that the combination of garlic and Vitamin C:

  • Increased endothelial nitric oxide by about three times baseline
  • Dropped systolic blood pressure from an average of about 142mm to about 115mm at the one-week point
  • Lowered diastolic blood pressure from an average of about 92mm to about 77 mm at the one-week point
  • The results were astounding and far surpassed pharmaceutical drugs to improve blood pressure and hypertension.

    Pine Bark

    History of Pine Bark

Pine Bark comes from the inner bark of the Pinus pinaster tree most commonly found in Europe.  Pine bark has been around for about 450 years.  In 1534, a French ship led by the famous explorer Jacques Cartier was stranded in Quebec, and his crew was given pine bark tea by natives to improve scurvy.  Four hundred years later, a French researcher name Jacques Masquelier did some studies to understand why this natural remedy was so effective.  He learned about the seemingly omnipotent antioxidant within it and how those antioxidant increase the absorption of Vitamin C.

    How Pine Bark Works

Pine bark is considered a super antioxidant.  The powerful nutrient in pine bark is called proanthocyanidin compound, or OPC's for short.  While OPC's found in this extract are mostly known for their antioxidant producing benefits, these amazing compounds exude antibacterial, antiviral, anticarcinogenic, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic properties.

    Pine Bark extract can improve conditions relating to;

  • Poor circulation
  • High blood pressure
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Diabetes
  • ADHD
  • Female reproductive issues
  • Skin
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Eye disease
  • Sports stamina
  • Pine bark seems to be the miracle cure for many other ailments as well.  The potential benefits of this incredible bark are unlimited.

    Independent Studies

The extract of pine bark has been used for hundreds of years as a medicinal use, but in recent years there have been human studies which have clinically proven that pine bark is an incredibly useful health food.  There are over 8,000 publications on pine bark extract and 56 of these are human trials.  Some of the human trials were for diabetes, fighting infections, reduced Hep C replication, erectile dysfunction, inflammation, and increased athletic performance.  One study suggests that pine bark is more effective than aspirin at reducing pain.
